About Coach

Born in Portland and raised in South Sacramento. I grew up playing a few sports recreationally. I spent more time with basketball and had a deep love for skateboarding. I was introduced to weightlifting in 2014 by a good friend after throwing my back out from a heavy deadlift. My foundation was built on old Cal Strength videos and venti-iced black coffees with a scoop of C4. Broken a couple of bones, and dropped a couple of snatches on my neck but remained standing to help lead the charge in the good fight. I don't have many highlights. I just like the work and the process.

Turning Point

I believe that turning points are disguised as injuries. With every injury, we learn a little more about ourselves & our bodies. This may force us to take a step back, reevaluate the journey and map out a different route. Maybe even relearn how to move better. The sport is filled with an endless amount of intrinsic battles but the real test is whether or not we will choose to push the extra mile despite the difficulties and setbacks.

Motivation & Passion

My purpose in coaching is to help others discover the beauty behind the barbell & to help further the understanding of the snatch and clean & jerk. I am devoted to serving those who are interested in the sport, those who are willing to take the leap of faith that's required and those who already have blood on the bar. Weightlifting gives me another opportunity to fight the battles I experience within the hustle and bustle of daily living. I hope to be a helping hand in your fight!
